Agency Favourite Find | Brands Supporting Pride 2020
Pride 2020: We can all agree that 2020 has said goodbye to many exciting and important events due to the unfortunate outbreak of COVID 19. This being said we have witnessed the community pull together to celebrate Pride this year in many creative ways.
Although Manchester Pride has been postponed, there have still been many opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate in a safer way. Manchester’s gay village introduced precautions that deferred people attending their bars and restaurants. This safely retained its capacity and allowed people to think outside of the box this year. Manchester Pride was hosted live on United We Stream last Saturday, this allowed people to embrace the festivities from their sofas and other ‘exciting’ locations.
As a design agency, we are always on the lookout for new trends and inspirations. During the past couple of weeks, we have enjoyed seeing how brands are supporting Pride through 2020. Below we have listed 10 of our favourites.
This year Nike has introduced their ‘BeTrue’ range that explores LGBTQ+ in a creative way with their new capsule collection. If you are a lover of Nike’s clothing and shoes then you’ll definitely obsess over their new hoodies, cropped tees, bandanas, socks, trainers and much more. Our favourite part of the collection is the new Air Force 1 that features a 10-colour heel mark inspired by the More Color, More Pride flag, this recognizes people of colour in the community with additional black and brown stripes.

Marc Jacobs has impressed us with their bright and proud packaging this year. Their bestselling enamoured hydrating lipsticks are all dressed up this year and we are loving it. The lipsticks consist of kahai oil and vitamin E. We are obsessed with the creative names given to each colour. Coming Out, Dancing Sheen, Pink-Kiki, Wet Your Lips, and Hips Don’t Lilac. They are available in a set or can be purchased separately.
This is Fossil’s second year supporting LGBTQ+ with a limited edition watch design during Pride. It features a metallic rainbow coloured bezel and an etching that commemorates Pride 2020. We appreciate the simplicity and strength of the design. It is available in 2 sizes.
Barefoot has created vibrant packaging and branding for Pride 2020 to honour LGBTQ+ and the people who have made an impact on the movement such as, marriage equality advocates, LGBTQ trailblazers, HIV/AIDS services, and global Pride organizers. Another thing you need to know about Barefoot is that they have also created unique Pride merch.
We can all agree that Happy Socks are an exciting and unique brand. This year they have really pulled it out of the bag and created some stunningly meaningful pairs of socks for Pride 2020. They have teamed up with the Phluid Project on 6 innovative designs including tie-dye designs and exciting patterns to embrace the LGBTQ+ community. Always walk with pride.
Skittles have completely scaled it back this year for Pride 2020 and we love it. They have removed their iconic rainbow and replaced it with a grey design to enhance the idea that Pride is more important. The sweets inside the bag are also covered in a grey shell yet the fruity taste remains the same.
