    Web Design

There are now countless ways to set up your own website; you just need to buy a domain, pick a host and choose a template…right? That would certainly be the cheap and cheerful approach, however, would that really meet the needs of your business? As a company who offer web design in Cheshire, we strongly advise that you create a bespoke, responsive website that is customized to achieve your goals. Our designs are user-friendly and aim to get you maximum results plus they come equipped with an easy to use CMS (Content Management System) that enables you to stay in control of your website’s content.

    User Experience

UX, short for user experience is a key focus when creating an exceptional website experience. How many times have you been on a website where you can’t find essential information, or where the navigation is so poor that you get lost in a maze of irrelevant pages with no obvious way back? Clean design, engaging messaging and prominent ‘calls to action’ are all essential to creating that feel-good experience for the visitor which creates a positive connection to your brand.

    Mobile

It’s all about the Mobile these days, and so it is vital that websites are mobile responsive i.e. the information displayed adapts seamlessly to fit the screen size that the user is using to view your site. An iPhone screen, for example, is obviously very different to a desktop monitor so all the visual elements of the website need to be presented in a completely different way. Over 50% of all searches are conducted on a mobile phone these days, so making your site fit the screen isn’t really optional anymore.

    The Process

Like most things in life, it is well worth taking a step back to plan out a website, considering the content the linking structures and the calls to action. Stage one is to create a ‘site map’. This is essentially a diagram detailing the pages that will be present on the website and the relationship between them with the home page sitting at the centre.

Once this is agreed, then the next stage is to create a wireframe. A wireframe is the skeleton of each web page, showing which areas will fit on the page and where. This is usually done for both mobile and desktop variations and allows the client to understand where key elements will sit, how social media is integrated and how and where enquiries are made.

Getting all this confirmed sets the foundation for the fruits of the branding exercise to be dropped in which leads to the creation of a set of visually stunning web page layouts. Following approval of these, the next stage is the build. There are a range of platforms that can be used, but WordPress is perhaps the most well-known, user-friendly and cost-effective option for brochure sites. On the other hand, Magento is typically the platform of choice for a more advanced E-Commerce website.

    Web Hosting

Once built a website needs a home which will be the server on which the files sit. The web domain or web address will then point to this server enabling the site to be viewed on the internet at a specific address. We host sites for many clients on a proven, secure and reliable server but are equally happy to pass over the finished files if the customer has an existing hosting relationship or set-up.
