Brandon is a recent graphic design graduate, and over the past month or so we’ve had the pleasure of having him in the studio on a placement. We asked Brandon to tell us a little bit about his experience at The Agency Creative…

“After graduating with a BA in graphic design from The University of Chester it was time to dive head first into the real world of design and industry. Little did I know that the transition wasn’t going to be as simple as that!

With little success in my search for work I decided that it was time to look down another avenue and apply for placements and work experience. I scavenged through hundreds of agencies based anywhere in the vicinity of Chester, Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester, and eventually stumbled upon The Agency Creative in Bowdon, Altrincham – their work on Gin Rickey’s bar based in Chester was what got me excited about the agency!

After meeting with the director, Nick Birch, they stepped in and saved me from my search; offering to work around me and help me in whatever way they could. YAY!

My overall experience of placements and work experience had left me feeling a little deflated. I always felt like a burden to the business; hiding away in a corner trying to keep out of peoples way. The Agency Creative was a breath of fresh air – they made me feel very welcome, and specialising in both web and print design, they were the perfect accompaniment to my ever-growing queries. I became the office sponge, absorbing all the information around me.

During my short time here at the agency they have assisted me greatly with my skills in web and print, teaching me lots of neat little tricks. Giving me real projects and tasks to work on with 1 to 1 assistance made this placement a great success!”
