The Agency Creative team really enjoyed getting involved with this fabulous brand and creating a visually stunning and unique website. NQ64 is a chain of retro arcade game bars. Based in prime locations of Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham, they have a wide variety of retro arcade games including some of our favourite all-time classics. Not only do they entertain with fantastic games but they also have a selection of creative cocktails for their guests behind the bar. Gamers will find a cocktail list inspired by the games with names like Bubble Bubble (vodka, gin, grenadine, coconut, prosecco, lemon and soda).
NQ64 are a fun modern company who want to communicate with their guests with the latest technologies and customer interaction systems. First impressions really do count and as NQ64 manage arcade bars in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham, we felt it was crucial that their website connects with its viewers in a friendly way. Initially, The Agency designed various website style options that offered interactive elements and explored the company drivers. Once NQ64 chose their favourite design we expanded on the content and created the entire website using a planned site map and our user experience knowledge.
The Agency Creative’s team of experienced graphic designers made sure the web design retained consistency and quality throughout every page. It was then built into WordPress as a bespoke and unique website. The homepage design consists of a minimal 60-second video header that captures the NQ64 venues and cool atmosphere.
The chosen design style reflects on the interior of the venues and includes simple illustrated elements to highlight the nostalgic games.
Players can have a go at shooting games Point Blank and Time Crisis II, fighting favourites Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Double Dragon, and driving games Outrun 2 and Crazy Taxi. All the retro favourites are covered, from Pac Man and Space Invaders to cult classics Side Arms and Galaga.
Whilst designing the new NQ64 website our creative team also decided to create illustrated location maps and nostalgic cocktail posters. These elements were designed to keep the website and all its features exciting and consistent. Gamers at NQ64 will find a cocktail list inspired by the games, such as Princess Peach (prosecco, peach, orgeat and pimento dram) and Donkey Kong ( Bourbon, mellow corn, banana and chocolate ).
We created a 60-second website intro video for the header of the NQ64 website. 60 seconds is an excellent length to give people a taste of what your product, service or business is all about. We wanted to capture the style and unique atmosphere of NQ64’s retro arcade game bars across their cool venues. To support this messaging, we add some slick engaging transitions and visual effects to the video to get across their quirky brand. The Agency Creative knows from experience that homepage intro videos can keep people on your site for longer, which is an important SEO factor. Your homepage is likely to be the single most visited page of your website. You’ve only got a precious few seconds to communicate the essence of what you’re all about before visitors click off your page and move on to the next site or online activity.
NQ64 promises to take gamers on a serious nostalgia trip and gamers should really enjoy the space. All being well with Covid Regulations, they plan to re-open their doors to gamers on 17th May 2021. We can’t wait for a night out there!
